Plotting the 'Polhill' plot.
During a chance encounter last year Mr Polhill intimated that, if the price was acceptable, he would be willing to sell his land to the Trust
The land is situated west of our orchard site, comprising a 2.5 acre (approximately) plantation of pine and maple, which appears to have crop value and is possibly ready for felling.

A turn out of six made up the survey party .... Martin and Brenda Bridgland plus friend (Maria Linares), Dave May, Shane and Roger.
The site was identified and a search uncovered some existing boundary posts and remnant wire.
David May plotted coordinates on GPS and found boundary errors on the original Darling map. The plotting identified that the site was 8 metres out at one end and 5 metres out at the other end.
Dave is also a keen amateur archeologist and has identified an earthwork feature which could be pre Roman - possibly Iron Age. He also found a small flint cutting tool with knapped facet edges.
He believes the area may have other ‘features’ and has offered to help plot the area and carry out archeological surveys.
David has written up a report describing the Measuring and Plotting process and some of the archaeological features found (see pdf document below).
