SHEEP GRAZING PROGRAMME

Volunteers are sought to help with an innovative 30 hectare sheep grazing programme on the picturesque North Kent Downs at Halling as part of a Natural England Higher Level Stewardship Scheme. |
Requirements
- A team of 4 or 5 (or more) volunteers to check and report on grazing rare Hebridean sheep on a simple rota basis.
- Commitment to the scheme (the initial period is for 5 years).
- Reasonable level of fitness and interest in livestock and the countryside.

Rewards
- You will take part in an industry recognised short training course covering all aspects of sheep lookering and husbandry (value £400).
- An ATV (quad bike) proficiency course is available for the brave hearted.
- You will be helping to conserve some of the unique orchids and other species that are specific to the North Kent Downs.
- Produce from the scheme will be available to volunteers as well as a discount on all purchases from Court Farm Country Larder.
