Seven members of the Trust met up at Forge Cottage on a sunny but frosty morning to continue the work of clearing the orchard as recommended in the Orchard Survey.
The workforce consisted of Roger Savage (Trustee), Shane Goldup (Trustee) and his son, Nathaniel, Chris Simms (Trustee), Fred Miles (Membership Secretary) and Craig Bowyer and his son Jack (members).

We totally cleared an area of orchard where all the trees were very small compared to other areas, indicating that this was not good ground for fruit trees.  Many were already dead.  Shane's dumper was again invaluable in pulling up the trees by the roots and although efforts to burn the wood proved difficult at first, due to the wood being waterlogged after all the recent rain, we eventually got a good fire going.
