Workday, Sunday 6th February 2011

Three of the WKDCT Trustees met up today to start clearing the area where a carved bench is to be installed by the Valley of Visions as part of the Cuxton Heritage Trail.  The site, which is owned by WKDCT, borders the west side of Brockles and affords panoramic views over the Cuxton valley and surrounding area.  The Trust is providing use of this site for the community as a focal point on the Cuxton Heritage Trail.

The workparty today consisted of Roger Savage, Shane Goldup and Chris Simms.  There were lots of tree roots to be pulled out and a start was made on clearing some of the small trees and scrub which would otherwise impede the view across the valley from the bench.

This is a view of the area (before work started).  It is proposed to site the bench underneath the large beech tree on the left of the picture.
